What is the 5 mm border?
The coaster is 100 mm in diameter. Artwork is clipped to a centred circle with a maximum diameter of 90 mm, leaving approximately 5 mm of visible natural slate around the circumference. Scaling or moving your image never enlarges this print area.
What is the coaster made from?
Natural slate, 100 mm in diameter and approximately 10 mm thick, with black felt backing. The real Tycer photographs show the edge appearance, surface texture and printed finish.
Which files work best?
Use your original, highest-quality file. The configurator accepts JPG and PNG, up to 20 MB per file. Around 1,063 pixels across gives 300 dpi at a 90 mm print diameter. Avoid screenshots and keep important details away from the circular crop edge. PNG transparency is preserved. Transparent areas reveal the slate in previews; production files retain alpha. The production underbase still needs confirmation.
Can I use the same picture more than once?
Yes. After adding a picture, choose to use it on both coasters or on all four. For a four-coaster set, you can also add two pictures and use each one twice.
How do I care for slate?
Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth. Natural slate edges and texture can vary from piece to piece.
